Dear anglophone authors,

if you have a German character, whether it be an evil SS-officer or a Jewish rocket scientist, please do not have him or her say, as an exclamation of surprise, “Gott in Himmel!“ No one here says “Gott in Himmel!” Ever! Please also refrain from such insults as “Schweinkopf” or “Aschenloch”. And please remember, “einsatztruppe” is always spelt with a capital ‘E’, since it’s a noun.

Should you be in doubt about the accuracy of the German in your thriller/historical romance/nazi-spy-story, I will gladly proof-read your novel for a small fee of only 32 reichsmark per page. Gott in himmel, you Schweine Kopf, that’s only about $ 14.
